About Me

Hi — I’m Alex, a 4th-year MBBS medical student at King’s College London (GKT).

I tutor aspiring medical students through the UK application journey end-to-end: UCAT strategy and practice plans, choosing universities, building a strong personal statement, reflecting on work experience/volunteering, and interview preparation (MMI and panel). My focus is helping you present an authentic, evidence-based “why medicine” and then perform confidently under timed conditions.

I intercalated in Pre-hospital Medicine with London’s Air Amblance and graduated with a First-Class Honours, coming top of cohort, and recieving the QMUL Principal’s Prize. Alongside university I volunteer with the London Ambulance Service as an Emergency Responder and I’m President of the KCL Emergency Medicine Society, so I’m constantly practicing the skills medical schools select for: clear communication, reflective insight, teamwork and safe decision-making. You will see this passion for the non technical skills that make brilliant clinicians reflected in every aspect of my approach to mentoring and teaching.

Expect a supportive but honest approach: we’ll identify your gaps fast, build a simple structure for every common question, and drill until your answers sound natural. If you want clarity, accountability and practical techniques that translate into higher scores and stronger interviews, I’d love to help.

My teaching style

I’m structured but friendly: we start with your baseline, set clear goals, then use short teaching bursts + lots of active practice. I use simple frameworks (for statements and interview answers) and I’ll pause you when something’s unclear so we fix it immediately. Expect personalised homework, timed drills, and honest, specific feedback that builds confidence without waffle.

My past experience

I regularly teach and run skills/revision sessions through King’s (including emergency care teaching and “train-the-trainer” style sessions). I’ve also supported younger students with UCAT strategy, personal statements and interview practice, focusing on clarity, structure and authenticity. My prehospital/ambulance work has made me very comfortable coaching calm communication under pressure.
