About Me
Hello! I am an enthusiastic and skilled tutor in GCSE, A-Level and Undergraduate Sociology or Psychology, and GCSE English Language or Literature. I teach my students with patience, kindness and pragmatism. I have experience of tutoring all ages, non-native English speakers and people with learning difficulties.
I have a BSc in Sociology and Psychology, and am currently undertaking an MA in Heritage Studies at the University of Manchester. I am employed in the heritage sector and my background in this sector has been contributing to the development and production of educational programmes in museum settings. This has fostered my passion for learning, and developed and honed my teaching skills. I think a good education is one of the most valuable tools that a person can have and I take the role of tutoring with the upmost seriousness and pride.
My teaching style
I understand that everyone has a different learning style so I prioritise taking time to get to know you and the learning method that you find the most helpful. I am an adaptable teacher and will alter my approach depending on how helpful you find it. I take a collaborative approach, encouraging question asking, learning activities and using personalised resources.
My past experience
I used to tutor for 2 years while I was studying for my undergraduate degree – this included tutoring online, mentoring first year students and sixth form students from local colleges and schools.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement was graduating from my undergraduate degree with first class honours. This is followed closely by being offered my first management position in the history/heritage sector.
