About Me
I am a First Year Biomedical Science Undergraduate with a strong passion for science. As long as my memory goes, I have always enjoyed biology the most but I also have had a keen interest in teaching. Through tutoring other students, family and friends I have gained sufficient experience. I have achieved all A’s in my GCSE’s and I have an A in my EPQ. I strongly believe that my teaching can get you through to your the best grades. I strive to only bring out the best in you. I can assure that not only will you have quality knowledge to ace your papers but also confidence and mental courage through my lessons. There are a variety of teaching methods and learning approaches that I can take to teach content so that students can understand, one of my biggest strengths is tailoring the learning to you.
My teaching style
My focus when teaching students can be separated into three key parts. Firstly, understanding. I test the students knowledge and will ensure that they are thorough with the content of the topic chosen before moving on further. Next, I will immediately test their knowledge with exam questions. Studies and research proves that using active recall and reinforcement of understanding with exam questions is the best way to achieve the best scores and expertise in a topic. Finally, consolidating the content. After understanding and using their knowledge to test with questions I will consolidate the students learning. This is through methods like blurting or drawing out mind maps with small cues. Consolidating, forces the student to recall from memory without the help of notes or questions. Here we can identify gaps, misunderstandings or any other issues. However, these three stages are the base of my lesson, I am a very adaptable person who will tailor the lesson to best suit the students needs and learning style.
