About Me
I love working with children and to see them learn. It fills me with joy and I love to meet new families. I blhave the patience for working with both younger and older students, and love working with people from different walks of life.
I am compassionate as I understand that not every family dynamic is the same and some students may face more difficulties. The big picture matters as all adults have a part to play in the social, mental and emotional development of each child.
Getting to know my students’ liked and dislikes is as important as their educational needs is important.
It’s necessary tk build rapport, garner trust and to enforce respect from them to me, and me to them. I encourage healthy boundaries so that the tutor-student relationship can thrive.
I am keen on discipline, if necessary, with the help of parents, but I am a massive fan of reward – both verbal, written and through prizes – and find it greatly encouraging for my students.
Lessons must be engaging, fun and worthwhile for all involved.
And clear communication is key and can be worked on.
My teaching style
Fun, motivating, achievable.
Students must grasp the basics, the right resources must be used, including games. I like to build rapport and get to know them as a person. I give lots of verbal praise and rewards, e.g. stars to earn prizes for the younger children.
I enforce reasonable behavioural guidelines.
