Srinidhi
About Me
Hi! I’m Srinidhi Thirumalai, a first year Economics undergraduate at the University of Cambridge with a strong foundation in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Economics and Physics – subjects in which I achieved top A-Level grades (A*A*A*A). My passion for education is backed by hands on tutoring experience ranging from GCSEs, A-Levels, to university admission levels. I specialise in subject specific instruction, personal statement refinement, and interview preparation. My student have received offers from prestigious institutions like Cambridge, LSE, Warwick, and UCL. With previous roles as a private tutor, Mathnasium, Kumon and Code Ninjas, I’ve developed a teaching approach that is clear, patient, and tailored to individual learning styles. Let’s unlock your academic potential together.
My teaching style
My teaching style is patient, personalised, and results-oriented. I adapt my approach to each student’s unique learning style, simplifying complex ideas and building confidence through encouragement and clear explanations. I have worked with students of many different ability levels and with special needs, so I focus on maintaining deep understanding, not just memorisation, to help students achieve their academic goals. Whether it’s preparing for exams or university applications, I aim to create an engaging and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and pushing their boundaries. My various experiences have helped me develop a flexible, student-centered method that brings out the best in every learner.
My past experience
I’ve been tutoring since 2022, working with students at various levels – from GCSEs all the way to uni admissions. As a private tutor, I’ve helped students strengthen subject knowledge, prepare for entrance exams, refine personal statements, and even practice mock interviews. Several of my students have gone on to receive offers from top unis such as Cambridge, LSE, UCL, and Warwick. Before that, I worked at Mathnasium, where I taught up to GCSE-level Maths, breaking down tricky concepts into easy-to-understand steps. I also spent time at Kumon, building foundational Maths and English skills on younger students, and at Code Ninjas, where I introduced children to coding in a patient and engaging way.
My Proudest Achievements
Some of my proudest achievements reflect both my academic dedication and my commitment to helping others succeed. I’m currently studying Economics at the University of Cambridge, having earned top A-Level results. As a tutor, I’ve had the privilege of guiding students towards offers from leading unis. I’ve also earned Gold Awards in various mathematical challenges and achieved the highest score in my region in the Royal Society of Chemistry Challenge – both of which reflect my love for problem-solving. Outside of academics, I led a successful fundraising effort that raised £500 through the NCS Programme, further developing my teamwork and leadership skills.
