About Me

Hi! I’m Ben and I’m a finalist studying Biochemistry in my 4th year of study at the University of Oxford. I’ve excelled at every level of education, receiving 10 9s at GCSE, 4 A*s at A level and a predicted 1st in my finals. This level of consistency and achievement is the blueprint I use with aspiring Oxbridge students to ensure they reach their goals. I have mentored various students in my sixth form through the interview process and discussed the techniques I used to maintain a spotless academic record. My tutoring approach is personal, since each student requires a unique mentoring strategy to extract their passions and provide motivation to work hard and achieve their full potential. I specialise in explaining key concepts in a simplified manner, with 3 years studying Biochemistry providing me with ample content to stretch my student’s knowledge in a manner identical to that used by Oxbridge tutors. It’s important to me to ensure all students have the opportunity to study at prestigious universities to kickstart their career, and having built up a network of friends and colleagues in elite academic and professional environments, I can help prospective students surpass goals in various fields. I aim to instil not only knowledge but to inspire a strong work ethic and build up traits vital towards achieving success in the future.

My teaching style

Within my lessons I will first breakdown the topic into the core principles, and continue to develop these principles by adding more detail, linking the topic to other areas or fields. My lessons are interactive and encourage my students to engage with the topic, leading my students to consider ideas or theories that provide a more rounded understanding of the topics. Through my education I am able to stretch even the most talented students, and provide example questions to test my student’s understanding of the topic. My mock interviews are personalised according to the student’s personal statement, and cover a range of topics that will be presented in the style of an Oxford tutorial, mirroring that of the real interview. I will always set aside time to answer questions, and encourage my students to consider both sides of an argument or theory to ensure they fully understand the concepts covered.

My past experience

I have provided mock interviews and Oxbridge application guidance to younger students in my former sixth form. I have also mentored younger students struggling with behaviour at various points in my life.

My Proudest Achievements

My exemplary academic record has been achieved through hard work and complete dedication to my goals, therefore is something I’m extremely proud of despite the many obstacles I’ve had in my life.
Outside of academia, I’ve played football for Oxford University Blues in front of over 2,000 fans, and have a circle of supportive, aspirational friends of whom I’m equally proud of.
