About Me

Hello there, my name is Adrienn Kiss and I am a third year international medical student, studying at the University of Ediburgh. I am a practical person, who has experienced patient care and have a diverse experience on what the required qualities are for a successful medical student.

Prioritizing effective communication in healthcare, I speak four languages, fostering inclusivity for all, no matter their background. Actively learning unconventional communication methods, like sign language, reflects my commitmen, which I have started learning while volunteering at a camp for children with physical disabilities in Canada during the summer of 2023. This experience deepened my understanding of diverse conditions and the people leaving with them, encouraging me to explore holistic and compassionate healthcare.

This year I have made the choice to intercalate in reproductive biology and global health and infectious diseases to learn more about the world outsid of medicine. I am looking forward to next semester where I will be able to conduct groundbreaking research on E. Coli and phage therapy in the light of emerging antimicrobial resitance.

My teaching style

I adopt an interactive and engaging teaching style, fostering a collaborative learning environment. I strive to make complex medical concepts accessible by incorporating real-life examples and encouraging active student participation. By promoting open discussions, I aim to create a dynamic and inclusive space where students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their perspectives. Additionally, I integrate visual aids and practical demonstrations to enhance comprehension and retention of the material. My goal is to inspire critical thinking and a deep understanding of the subject matter, preparing students not just for exams but for success in their future medical careers.

Someone who has ADHD and has difficulty with attention span and learning when not interested, I found it difficult to orrientate myself witht the application process to medical schools, therefore it is my goal to be inclusive and adaptive to everyone’s learning style and to make sure that everyone achieves their dreams.
