About Me
I am a medical doctor in dentistry, public health researcher, and experienced educator with a strong passion for teaching and mentoring students. My academic journey spans clinical dentistry, medical biochemistry, and public health, with degrees obtained with First Class Honors and Distinction from the University of Yaoundé I and University College London (UCL), where I studied as a Commonwealth Scholar.
Beyond my clinical background, I have over four years of experience in health research, data analysis, and evidence-based practice, contributing to peer-reviewed publications and international research collaborations, including work with the WHO African Region. I bring a multidisciplinary perspective to teaching, combining clinical examples, public health relevance, and scientific rigor to help students truly understand—not just memorize—complex concepts.
I have taught and supervised nursing and health science students at tertiary institutions, delivered over 50 lectures and practical sessions, and mentored students through clinical placements and research projects. My goal as a tutor is to build confidence, critical thinking, and long-term academic success. I am patient, structured, and deeply committed to helping each learner reach their full potential, regardless of their starting level.
My teaching style
My teaching style is student-centred, interactive, and structured. I simplify complex concepts using real-life examples, visuals, and step-by-step explanations. I adapt my pace to the learner, encourage questions, and focus on understanding rather than rote learning, while building confidence and critical thinking.
My past experience
Yes. I have served as a teaching assistant in health training institutes, delivering lectures and practical sessions in oral pathology and dental hygiene to nursing students. I have supervised clinical placements, mentored student research projects, and conducted case-based teaching for healthcare professionals.
My Proudest Achievements
Being awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to study Public Health at UCL, publishing peer-reviewed research, graduating with First Class Honors, and mentoring hundreds of health science students while building and leading a dentistry department from the ground up.
