About Me

Hello!
My name is Oli and I am a second year medical student at the University of Oxford (Balliol College). I have over 2 years experience tutoring students of all ages, from 7+ upwards, and would love to start to tutor again and share my love for learning.

I achieved A* in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry while attending St Paul’s School in London, as well as the top mark in the school for Ancient History. I scored 3350 on my UCAT medical admissions test (top 0.1%), and received medical school offers from Oxford, Imperial, Edinburgh, and Bristol.
I also have many interests outside academics. I am an avid tennis player, am a member of the football and rugby club, as well as being Sales and IT director for Balliol Ball.

I would love to have to chance to tutor you child not only the content they need to know in the short term, but also to give them to toolkit they need to teach for themselves, and hopefully inspire a passion that will make them love learning and discovering the world around them.

My teaching style

I believe in building a jovial rapport with students, earning their trust and respect. I use this as a platform to start building their confidence, giving them the basic skills and knowledge they need to start learning and revising independently. I enjoy teaching and communicating, and love getting to know students and understanding the issues they are having so we can fix them together.

My past experience

I have over 2 years teaching experience previously. I have been a private tutor where I have taught GCSE students one-on-one, as well as working for the tutoring company Bright Young Things. That role required me to teach groups of students preparing for their 11+ in a learning centre, as well as going to houses and doing online tutoring classes.

My Proudest Achievements

My proudest achievement is scoring the highest mark in the school for Ancient History A-level, beating 2 students who went to read Ancient History at Oxford. This is because I always struggled with humanities and essay writing, but found when I really enjoyed a subject and found my passion for it I could put in the hours and work to become better purely for the sake of learning, rather than for my University application or anything else.
