About Me
I am currently a mathematics and philosophy student in Magdalen College, Oxford University. I found math both challenging and appealing, and I have been doing it since primary school. I have done a bit of maths Olympiad, research and applications, and I am familiar with the potential difficulties within each area. The reason I am taking on this tutoring job is because of all the help that I received from friends who are older than me before, during, and after my application season. That is something I would love to pass on to more students who have a keen passion for the subject, to give them advice on specific problems but also provide as much help as I can on their discovery road in maths. I hope we could spend some lovely time together, wondering around the world of numbers and graphs, and hopefully we will feel satisfied when the results turn up.
My teaching style
I am flexible in teaching, and am willing to cater to every need. I think it is important to fully understand the concepts and the interrelations between them. I don’t think it is necessary to do a lot of exercises, though by essential practices we do get better. I want to focus more on the mathematics thinking in every topic so students will be capable of solving new, unfamiliar questions on their own.
My past experience
I have taught the juniors when I was a senior in high school.
My Proudest Achievements
I have, like listed above, won prizes in the AMC, HiMCM, and the Chinese Girls Math Olympiad. But I think the proudest fact about myself is that I still do feel the passion in maths and keep on being intrigued.
