Maisie
About Me
Hello! I’m excited to introduce myself and share my passion for supporting students on their educational journeys. My name is Maisie and I am a 25 year old medical student, studying in Swansea, all the way from Melbourne, Australia. I moved from Australia two years ago to pursue my dream in becoming a doctor. I have a degree in Biomedical Science and, before moving to the UK, worked as a research assistant at the Royal Children’s Hospital in kids’ allergy research.
My goal is to help a range of students, particularly young kids and teens, whether that’s through mentoring, organising their studies, or assisting with specific subjects. I have experience in private tutoring for all subjects in primary school, and a harboured interest in English, English lanugage and Sociology for highschoolers.
In addition to this, for University students, I tutor in Section 2 in the GAMSAT. I’m also dedicated to guiding students through important milestones, such as applying for medical school, and interview preparation for Medicine – something I wish I had whilst going through this daunting process.
With extensive experience in nannying and caring for young children, I’ve developed a strong understanding of their needs and challenges. My interest in paediatrics as a medical specialty further fuels my desire to make a positive impact in their lives. I believe that every child deserves the support they need to thrive, and I am committed to being the right fit for your child (or you!).
My teaching style
Hands-on approach, talking through the theory, practice questions, finding the style that works for them (everyone learns differently!). Whether this be interactive discussions, or structured study plans – I place a strong emphasis on encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills, allowing students to develop confidence in their abilities.
My past experience
I have been tutoring for the best part of 8 years now. My mum is a teacher and she has taught me some great skills!
