About Me

Hi! I’m Isla, I’m 18 years old and a 1st year student at the University of Glasgow studying history and politics as a joint degree. I have always been passionate about these topics and would love to help people engage with them just as I did. I am friendly and supportive and always try to make content understandable and interesting. I achieved all A’s in my Nat 5’s and have 5 A’s at a higher level alongside 2 B’s at higher and an A and B at an advanced higher level. I am hugely passionate about written subjects and find them highly important in people’s development. I am also interested in music and perform frequently both with and without my guitar. I have been playing guitar since I was 9 and have been dedicated to it ever since. I love helping people learn and hope that through this I can help more people love the subjects as much as I do.

My teaching style

I would describe my teaching style as friendly and informative. I also try to make the information given as clear as possible and I am able to adapt in order to make it understandable for any students. I am also determined and driven and will focus on the student to make sure they get the best results possible.

My past experience

I have some experience in teaching through high school where I was involved in the MVP scheme as well as a tutoring programme for younger students.

My Proudest Achievements

My proudest achievements are getting into my first choice university as well as achieving an A in my advanced higher music which I had worked extremely hard for.

My Results and Achievements

  • Achieved 7 A's at Nat 5's
