About Me
I am a Leeds Arts University graduate with a 1st class degree in BA(Hons) Visual Communication and having worked in learning environments around the world, communication is my strength. I didn’t find school easy and navigated being neurodivergent throughout my education until getting diagnosed in my 20s. This has given me a real depth of understanding of different learning styles, how to best accommodate them and how to work to your strengths. I am a positive and empathetic tutor who aims to build my students’ confidence in themselves and their abilities.
When it comes to creative work, I understand what tutors and exam boards are looking for when it comes to marking. I also understand how personal creative work is and how hard it can be to detach yourself from your grades.
In terms of academic work, I know how hard it can be to juggle such large volumes of information and make sure you understand it all. This is why I have put together a toolkit of study skills and techniques that can help you reach your potential.
My teaching style
Having graduated University with 1st Class Honours despite having Dyslexia and ADHD, I have a in deep understanding of accessible learning and how to cater to different learning styles. This is my focus when delivering lessons and I have developed a number of methods to help with comprehension, focus and memory, while keeping learning interesting and fun. Not every subject comes naturally to every student, and typical exams and coursework are not catered to those who learn differently. I keep this in mind with an empathetic approach to teaching and aim to work WITH your learning style, not against it.
