About Me
Hello I’m Tilly. I’m a friendly and approachable 2nd year medical student at Bristol. I remember how daunting the medical application process was so I hope I am able to support and help you through this time. I hope to thoroughly prepare you for your interviews and help you work on your skills and knowledge to help you achieve the best results possible throughout your application. My top career based achievements involve gaining all 4 offers from Bristol, Liverpool, UEA and Birmingham and 3 a*s at a level in biology, chemistry and geography. Following my first year of study at Bristol I was able to obtain one of two alumni academic achievements awards for being the highest achieving undergraduates in the Health Faculty. I have many friends and contacts studying medicine at a variety of universities across of the country including Cambridge, Sheffield, Leicester, Nottingham etc. – these friends would all be willing to pass on personal insights from their universities. Outside of medicine I like to maintain a good work life balance getting outside in the countryside on walks and bike rides and well as my new hobby open water swimming.
My teaching style
I firmly believe that tutees gain the most from their medic mind sessions where they are able to take control of the sessions setting an agenda of all the topic areas they would like to cover. I like to encourage students to push themselves out of their comfort zones using lots of mock and practice questions and giving students the opportunity to practice their answers to me, I then like to share as much valuable advice and additional information to the student. I try to use a mixture of medic mind resources and personal resources from my application and from lectures and tutorial notes taken throughout my medical studies to support students and give them information which will help them stand out.
My past experience
As well as being involved with multiple tutoring programmes at school tutoring year 10+11s science whilst in sixth form. I also have plenty of experience helping people with their medical application, I was the medic captain at my school and have tutored many hours per week for the last 5 months supporting many students.
My Proudest Achievements
My top career based achievements involve gaining all 4 offers from Bristol, Liverpool, UEA and Birmingham and 3 a*s at a level in biology, chemistry and geography and 9 a*s at GCSE. Following my first year of study at Bristol I was able to obtain one of two alumni academic achievements awards for being the highest achieving undergraduates in the Health Faculty. Aside from medicine gaining grade 8 clarinet is a personal achievement I am very proud of.
