Anton
About Me
My name is Anton, I am a third year civil engineering student at Imperial College. I am very passionate about my degree which includes a wide variety of modules ranging from mathematics and structural mechanics to computational methods and water resource management.
I come from Abingdon School where I have my GCSE’s and A-levels. I also have some experience with tutoring young students from unprivileged backgrounds (having took part in Royal Institution Masterclasses).
I am eager to tutor at A-level & University level standard subjects in which I have expertise in namely; Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Mechanics, Structural Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Soil Mechanics and MATLAB. I will also be more than happy to help with preparation for engineering interviews and admission tests as well as helping with personal statements.
My teaching style
I like to be very clear about two things – the goal that the student sets for themselves and the means of reaching the end result. I believe theory based explanations are best backed up by practical problems while some context will help settle the problems and theory in the bigger picture.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement to date is presenting one of my Professors with a FEA coursework which investigated the failure envelope of a truss bridge predicting the sequence of member failures and approximating the largest load before complete collapse.
