Zac
About Me
My name is Zac and I recently graduated from the University of Cambridge, with particular focus on differential equations, probability and statistics in my final year. I also completed the first year Physics course at the University of Cambridge as part of my degree. I have experience tutoring GCSE mathematics, and am comfortable teaching physics up to A-level and Mathematics up to Further Mathematics A-level. Through a university scheme to support mathematics offer holders, I have worked with students through their STEP exams (the Cambridge Mathematics entrance exam), and I am able to tutor towards similar university entrance tests such as TMUA, and MAT. In addition I’ve helped students through their mathematics 13+ plus exams. When not tutoring or doing maths myself, I love making music and reading.
My teaching style
To me, the most important thing is to base my lessons around what the student is looking for. For maths entrance exam preparation, problem solving is the main stumbling block and so I focus my lessons around working together through practice questions to build confidence. In contrast, for GCSE and A-Level I will usually look to sure up understanding of the general concepts by collaboratively working through well chosen examples.
My past experience
I have experience tutoring maths at both GCSE and A-Level, as well as for 13+ exams. In addition, through a university scheme I have helped offer holders through their STEP exams for Cambridge maths entry.
My Proudest Achievements
While I am extremely proud of my academic achievements and my bachelors degree in particular, I am most proud of the fundraising work I have done for my local hospice, the Mountbatten Hospice.
