Margot
About Me
Hi, I’m Margot, a 2nd year medical student at the University of St Andrews. I have an in-depth understanding of the medical application process, with expertise in personal statements, interviews, and admission test preparation. In addition to the UK, I have successfully navigated the Irish and Italian medical school application processes, but ultimately chose to commit to St Andrews.
I’ve tutored numerous students from the UK and internationally across various age groups. Over the years, I’ve learned to adapt and refine my skills to meet individual needs. My aim is to enhance your medical application and provide specific support in MMI interview techniques. My knowledge of the selection processes used by universities will help you stand out amongst your peers.
In high school, I studied Biology, Chemistry, and French at A-level, while also earning an additional diploma in French. I’ve received numerous offers from prestigious boarding schools such as Charterhouse, Wellington, and Cheltenham. I thoroughly understand the admissions process and can provide in-depth tutoring, drawing from my own experiences and successes.
My teaching style
My teaching style is a student-centered approach designed to guide you towards success. The aim is to leverage your achievements and address your weaknesses to aid you in receiving multiple offers, with a goal in securing a spot at your chosen medical school or high school.
For interview practice, I focus on specific weak areas and conduct several mock interviews, providing effective feedback to improve your technique. My goal is to ensure you feel confident and prepared for the detailed and nuanced questions.
Overall, I strive to provide practical methods to help you successfully complete your personal statement and enhance your interview skills. I will structure your outcomes based on both short-term (lesson to lesson) and long-term (entire tutoring experience) goals.
My past experience
I have an extensive experience in the application process and exam preparation, specialising in tutoring for medical school personal statements, and interviews. My expertise allows me to guide students effectively through each step of their journey towards a successful medical school application.
