Hanna
About Me
Hi! My name is Hanna, and I’m a medical student with a background in Biomedical Science and a passion for helping others achieve their academic and career goals. I specialize in supporting prospective medical students with their UCAT preparation, personal statements, interview techniques, and strategic application planning to maximize their chances of success.
Having personally navigated the competitive medical school admissions process, I understand how overwhelming it can feel, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way with clear strategies, tailored resources, and insider tips. I also hold a Biomedical Science degree, which enables me to explain complex concepts in a clear, engaging way for both A-level and university-level students.
In addition to my medical and scientific support, I also offer tutoring in Italian, whether you’re just starting out or aiming to improve fluency. As a multilingual tutor, I value clear communication and adapt my teaching to suit your learning style and pace.
Whether you need help mastering UCAT techniques, refining your personal statement, preparing for MMI or panel interviews, learning Biomedical Science concepts, or picking up a new language like Italian, I’m here to help you succeed.
Let’s work together to unlock your full potential and make your goals a reality.
My teaching style
My teaching style is student-centered, adaptable, and goal-oriented. I focus on understanding each student’s unique strengths, challenges, and learning preferences to tailor sessions that are both effective and engaging. I use a mix of practice questions and real-world examples to make complex concepts easier to grasp, especially for UCAT, interviews, and biomedical science topics. I encourage questions, build confidence through practice, and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. My aim is to empower students to think critically, perform under pressure, and achieve their academic goals.
My past experience
Yes, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for one year in Cambridge nurseries, where I developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt complex ideas into accessible language. This role laid the foundation for my approachable and supportive teaching style.
Currently, I volunteer as a mentor with Melanin Medics, where I support a Year 12 student aspiring to study medicine. This involves guiding them through the medical school application process, offering UCAT preparation tips, and building their confidence in interview skills. It’s incredibly rewarding to play a part in empowering the next generation of medics, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds.
These experiences have deepened my commitment to education and helped me build a versatile, empathetic teaching style that supports students both academically and personally.
My Proudest Achievements
As a medical student, I was honoured to receive the Knox Award for a poster I made within a given time limit. This recognition reflected the hard work and creativity I put into communicating scientific ideas clearly and effectively.
During my time at Anglia Ruskin University, I was actively involved in race equality work for the faculty of science and engineering, advocating for more inclusive practices and supporting initiatives to improve the experience of students from underrepresented backgrounds. This role deepened my understanding of systemic challenges in education and strengthened my passion for creating equitable learning environments. It was incredibly fulfilling to be part of meaningful change within the university community.
