About Me

Hello!
I’m Malaika and I am an incoming FY1 doctor.

I’ve been exactly where you are – striving toward the singular goal of becoming a doctor. However, this process is gruelling, it isn’t merely about good grades. It’s a multifaceted process involving a compelling personal statement, doing well in the interviews, and a touch of luck of course!

Like many, I encountered setbacks from some universities and these experiences can be very disheartening. But while navigating through this, I learnt a lot about what these interviews are looking for.

I’ve had the privilege of mentoring over 50 students through their interview preparations, with the majority receiving offers. My approach is tailored to each individual, focusing on understanding their unique learning needs and ensuring they exude confidence on interview day, authentically portraying themselves to the interviewers.

My role is to make you understand the core principles in each answer. I do this through loads of practice questions, mock interviews and feedback to get you to the best answers for the interview day. I also help out with TSS/ personal statement.

There also isn’t much useful help out there when it comes to the application/ interview process for medicine. This is where I fit in with my own experience and all that I have learnt from my experience tutoring.

Teaching and tutoring have been integral to my identity since my school days, and I’m honoured that I have been able to continue this so far and to be a part of each student’s medical school journey.

My teaching style

I emphasise a comprehensive review of practice questions, followed by detailed feedback aimed at enhancing performance, aligned with the specific marking criteria.

My main aim is to make sure you are aware of the fundamental concepts that are core to any questions that can be asked in the interview.

At the same time, I recognise that each one of you is different so my classes are centred around each student’s weakness/ fears. To achieve this, I meticulously prepare study materials tailored to their needs and invest time in session preparation. Additionally, I give questions for the students to for the students to have a think about after the session.

I also always make sure that there have been multiple mock interview sessions with myself before the actual interview.

My past experience

I have tutored some of my juniors in med school as well as taught underprivileged kids in India.

Over 80+ hours as a tutor in medic mind.

My Proudest Achievements

Successfully made it into medical school right after high school!

Most of my students receiving offers after their interviews!
