About Me
Hi I’m Kamya and I am studying Medicine at Imperial College London.
I am a very self-driven, and motivated student at University, and have always excelled in my school exams both at GCSE and A level exams achieving 9 9s at GCSE across both sciences and humanities. I did superbly well in my A levels achieving A* in Physics, A* Chemistry, and A in Biology. I love to read and research, and make my learning fun, interactive and engaging. In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering with different organisations and I am also part of GOSH’s Young People Forum.
Having sat a whole host of exams from medical school exams to GCSE’s and A-levels I can guide and share tips and tricks that help make revision more efficient and effective as well as useful exam technique skills and ways to target and approach certain questions, so they are fully equipped for their exams. Furthermore, having three successful medical school interviews I have the expertise to guide aspiring medics to write excellent personal statements and mentor them to be confident and prepared for their interviews.
My teaching style
The initial meeting is a fantastic way to get to know each other and understand the tutees preferred method of teaching as well as understand what their strengths and weaknesses are and set goals so they can progress and achieve the grades they aspire for.
Lessons will start with a quiz to recap the previous session to ensure content is understood and also a chance to go over any doubts since the last class. Then we will cover set learning outcomes for the session ensuring it’s focused on the points the tutee wants to learn and is tailored to their specification and bespoke, so it allows them to reach their full potential.
My Proudest Achievements
I am super proud of my academic career so far and grateful of having begun my medical journey to becoming a doctor especially knowing how difficult it is to get a place. I am also proud of my contributions as part of GOSH’s Young People’s Forum especially how they have translated to several beneficial actions and decisions to improve patient healthcare. Recently, I also won an entrepreneurial award for my fundraising for children’s education in India and Malawi as part of WOHAA.
