About Me
Hello prospective students/parents. My name is Mohammad and I am a third year dental surgery student studying at the University of Leeds.
I am interested in tutoring because I would like to help prospective students achieve their goals in entering Higher education, whether it be securing a place at University or achieving a high grade.
When I was applying to University, I was not confident in my abilities but with the help of a tutor, I had gained the confidence in my skills enough to secure a place. This has inspired me to help other students secure their dream.
I am quite an informal tutor as I feel that most students tend to be shy at first but then open up really quickly, allowing me to answer any of their concerns without any judgment.
If you feel that I can help you realise your potential, then please do not hesitate to contact me through Medic mind!
Thanks
My teaching style
I like to have an icebreaker with a student, ensuring that they are as comfortable as possible. After this, I like to assess the student’s strengths and weaknesses by an initial assessment. I will then try to introduce initial concepts to the student and build upon these concepts by example so the student can build a foundation early on.
I then will go over problems with the student, guiding them throughout, and repeat this up to the point that the student is confident in their abilities to tackle any problems without any help.
My past experience
I have 3 years of past experience working in a tutoring centre teaching Maths and English to children from a variety of backgrounds. I have dealt with difficult clients before so I am versatile in dealing with difficult situations.
My Proudest Achievements
I would say my proudest achievement is gaining a place at dental school. Coming from a background that typically gives students a lower chance of entering Higher education has motivated me in working hard and I can say that my efforts have finally paid off.
Outside of academia, I am proud to have achieved a bronze medal in the national karate championships. This required me to have a tenacious attitude and discipline which helped me secure a place in the top 3.
