About Me
Hello,
My name is David and I’m a penultimate year, Graduate Entry Medical Student at the University of St. Andrews and the University of Dundee (ScotGEM). My previous degree was in Immunology and Pharmacology which I graduated from with first class honours, as well as the British Society of Immunology Undergraduate Prize.
I am currently on a longitudinal integrated clerkship (LIC) year in the south of Scotland and spend half of my week consulting and learning in GP and the other half in secondary care. On my days off I work in community Pharmacy where I have been for a number of years.
Outside of studies, I love the outdoors – I’m often grilling on the BBQ or kayaking!
I’d love to help you work towards that all important exam or goal that’s coming up, together we can use my experience and knowledge to work towards a plan and give you that extra boost towards achieving your dreams!
My teaching style
I am a very adaptable tutor an have tailored to a number of different learning types over the years. My main goal is to help and encourage learners to be independent and critical thinkers. I often spend a bit of time understanding each learners needs and then formulating a plan together with them in order to work towards something and get the most out of our sessions.
My past experience
I have a huge amount of experience as a tutor, both at an undergraduate and post-graduate level. I have successfully helped a number of students get into Medical and Dental schools across the country and have a very firm record with UKCAT, GAMSAT, BMAT and admissions tutoring / Interviews.
My Proudest Achievements
That’s a tough question. I have to say, for the past two years I have been added to the deans list of academic excellence at the University of St. Andrews which has been quite an honour. I am also learning a new language and being able to speak with others more recently has been an incredible achievement.
