Hi, I am Alexandra and I would love to be your tutor!
I am a very enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient teacher who is very excited to share my knowledge with you and provide you support during your studies.
I am an international student from Toronto, Canada studying in my third year of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) . Throughout my three years at the RVC, my passion surrounding Chemistry and Biology in my field grew. Some of my interests in this profession include Surgery and One Health Medicine and I hope to complete a Cardiology residency once I graduate.
As an applicant who was once applying into the very competitive pool of Veterinary Medicine, I understand how stressful this process can be and how integral a mentor’s role can play in providing a helping hand. This is why my goal as a tutor is to create an engaging, interactive and motivational environment.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you succeed in your future endeavours.
My teaching style
My teaching style is very based upon your learning preference. I fully understand that everyone learns differently, that’s why I always make sure to accommodate what you prefer. However, what you can expect to see is a peer to peer learning environment. We will have one-to-one conversations about the topic at hand where you will be able to address any concerns. There will be many visuals to assist in understanding difficult concepts and you are always given the opportunity and encouragement to solve problems on your own. At the end of each lesson there will be debrief and summary sessions to reassure you of what we have learned.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements include being on the honour roll every year in my secondary school, being awarded with the highest grade for Chemistry and English, obtaining a French bilingual certificate, and getting into my first choice Veterinary School.
