About Me

Hello, my name is Mya and I would love to be your tutor. I am look forward to working with you and finding innovative ways for you to improve. My tutoring involves creative and individualised methods to facilitate learning.
My starting point is to establish how best you learn and identify reasons why you may not understand the specification. From there, we can work together, looking at questions, concepts, tricky topics and exam techniques to help you attain your goals.
Having successfully gone through the Oxbridge admissions process, I appreciate and understand what is required and would love to aid in different aspects of the process, whether that be GCSEs/A-Levels, admissions tests (BMAT), or interviews.
I am approachable, patient and understanding and I want to provide a fun and enjoyable learning experience. I believe that good learning is based on a trusting and supportive relationship between tutor and student, and that success is rooted in this.

My teaching style

My teaching style will be direct, creative and flexible, adapting to your individual needs. Through a passion for learning, I will become invested in your journey and my teaching style will reflect this. I will encourage students to have high expectations of themselves and I am confident that I will inspire them to achieve.

My past experience

I am currently a Zero Gravity mentor, supporting two mentees through their university application journey, one of whom hopes to attend the University of Oxford. I have enjoyed building mentoring plans, and collaborating one-on-one has meant that the mentees experience is geared towards their individual needs. This tutoring structure has demanded engaging and unique mentoring methods specific for each student.

Mya is very good at explaining concepts in a way you would easily understand. She is very supportive if there is something you are unsure about and goes through the topics at your desired pace. She has excellent and effective teaching methods that help you remember and recall the content (very interactive - which is really helpful in consolidating knowledge). Overall, Mya is knowledgeable and her methods work to ensure you achieve top marks.

Mya is a very organised tutor and I highly recommend her. She listens to the student's needs and organises lessons accordingly, during the lesson she is very patient with guiding the students, and after the lesson, she is able to give comprehensive summaries and feedback to the students.
