Sahar
About Me
Hi there!
My name is Sahar and I am a third year medical student at UCL.
I achieved top grades for my GCSEs and A-levels, receiving A**/9 – A/7 in all my subjects, including level 9s in Chemistry, Physics and Maths GCSEs and an A* in A-level Maths.
I have also received awards at school for my performance in some of these subjects, including a mathematics award given to one KS3 student per year, as well as certificates for participating in the annual UK maths and biology challenges.
My favourite subjects at school were biology and maths, as I enjoyed solving problems by working with numbers, and learning interesting concepts about the human body. Hence I would love to share my love for these subjects with other students through tutoring!
I can also be quite flexible with lesson timings as well as teaching methods / lesson structures.
My teaching style
I am flexible in regards to how the student wishes to learn, and I can adapt to use whatever methods they find most effective. If the student has no particular preference, my default method of teaching would be to ask them questions about what in particular they want to go over / what they don’t quite understand, go through the concepts (explaining with diagrams and drawings), then do practice questions to see how we can apply the knowledge in an exam context. I can also provide tips at the end of the lesson for how to revise that particular topic most effectively.
My past experience
I have been teaching a wide range of students through medic mind for the past two years.
My Proudest Achievements
Receiving the annual head teacher’s award and mathematics award in my school, achieving nothing less than an A in any of my GCSEs/A-levels, and getting into one of my favourite universities.
