About Me
Hi all,
My name is Rebecca and I am currently a 5th year medical student at Keele University. I graduated from University of Liverpool with a First Class Honours in BSc Anatomy and Human Biology in 2020 and went onto study Medicine later that year. Coming from a low-achieving school with poor teaching, I understand the importance of a great tutor and frankly, without my tutors I wouldn’t be where I am today!
I am a committed tutor with a deep understanding of science and numerous years of teaching experience. I am excited to get to know as many of you as possible and help you achieve the highest scores possible.
I also believe in celebrating progress, no matter how big or how small, to keep my students motivated. Positive reinforcement boosts confidence and encourages a growth mindset, helping students view challenges as opportunities for learning.
Lets work together and smash those exams! I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
My teaching style
I tailor each lesson to my student’s unique needs, learning pace, and goals. Whether you’re struggling with a specific concept or aiming to master advanced topics, I will try my best to adjust the material and teaching methods accordingly. On top of this, I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adjust my methods to suit each student’s preferred learning style—whether visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, or a combination of these. I might use diagrams, real-world examples, interactive tools or verbal explanations, depending on what works best for the individual. After each session, I provide constructive feedback to help students understand what they did well and what areas need improvement. I also encourage students to reflect on their learning to reinforce self-awareness and growth. Finally, my ultimate goal is to create a learning space where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring new ideas and building the confidence to tackle challenges independently.
My past experience
I have had the privilege of working as a tutor for over 5 years, during which I’ve had the opportunity to help students of all ages and academic levels achieve their learning goals. Over the years, I’ve honed my ability to adapt my teaching style to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring that every lesson is engaging, effective and tailored to their unique strengths and challenges. I have experience with face-to-face and digital tutoring sessions.
My Proudest Achievements
I am proud of achieving the best dissertation in the school of life sciences at University of Liverpool as I produced a 60-page document independently during COVID lockdown with little help from my dissertation tutor. I am proud of my First Class Honours in Anatomy and Human Biology and the opportunities this gave me. I am proud of the successful anatomy sessions I organised and delivered at Keele University for medical students in the years below. I am also proud for staying mentally and physically healthy, whilst juggling a part-time job and medical school. Finally, I am proud for working 40 hour weeks as a medical assistant in the hospital in order to save enough money to pay my £9250 tuition fee every year by myself.
