Naduni
About Me
My name is Naduni Mapatuna. I am in year 3 of Medicine at University of Leeds, and received 3 offers when I applied last year. I’d describe myself as resilient, kind, friendly and academically driven and always strive to do the best I can, not just for myself but helping others along the way. I achieved 4 A* in my A levels and 13 A* in my GCSE’s. However, life is not just about grades and getting into medicine! I play netball and swim regularly, and have also achieved grade 6 in Piano.
I have lots of experience as a tutor, as I first started working as one at the age of 14, teaching maths and English. It has always been a passion of mine, being able to help students and really being able to see the difference I can make! Therefore I would love to be able to help you / your child take one of the biggest (and most difficult) steps in your life and career – applying to med school.
My teaching style
I believe that each student has different learning methods and abilities, therefore I will adapt my teaching method to suit the student and their needs. It also depends on what aspect I am teaching, for example interviews will be almost all practice questions – first explore into the question and structure an answer together, whilst more academic aspects, e.g. biology, chemistry, BMAT will require a stronger emphasis on the content, paired together with lots of practice questions.
