3About Me
My name is Mmabatho, but Batho for short. I am originally from South Africa but have lived In the UK since 2013, but I try and go back for holidays as it is an amazing country. I was in boarding school for about all of my school life (10 years) which has given me many opportunities to make lifelong friends and grow independently.
One of my passions/hobbies is crocheting and making clothes. It requires a lot of dedication and patience but finishing an item makes me feel very accomplished. As a uni students time can get stressful so I also love a good binge on Netflix and Disney +
I am currently at Royal Holloway University of London doing a BSc in Psychology. I completed my first year which was definitely a rollercoaster of a ride and definitely a big jump from A-Levels but a positive one.
My teaching style
My teaching would start off by explaining the objectives for the lesson/topic. Then I will start the lesson going through and the required points for the topic making sure the student understands and if not, go back to anything that was misunderstood. I would then find exam questions specific to the topic for us to go through together and I would set the remaining questions as prep with a markscheme which we could go through in the next lesson, especially if there was any misunderstanding.
My Proudest Achievements
Some of my proudest academic achievements have been getting into university to do the degree I have always dreamed about, completing 8 grades of LAMDA Speech & Drama, becoming hockey captain in sixth form and learning how to make clothing items (a lot of resilience was needed!)
