Chevelle
About Me
Hi, I am Chevelle and I’m a fourth-year medical student at ARU.
I achieved 9 A*s and 2 As at GCSE and A*AA at A level, and I have always been passionate about learning and love helping others reach their academic potential. My strong science background, especially my interests in haematology, have given me the opportunity to present my research at national and international conferences in the coming academic year. I speak German and I am learning Japanese, which has improved my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and patiently. I believe these are skills that are essential for tutoring. I love being creative and I enjoy crocheting and graphic design, which allow me to think creatively and adapt my teaching style to suit each student. My academic achievements, enthusiasm, and well-rounded skillset make me confident that I can be an encouraging, engaging, and effective tutor.
My teaching style
My tutoring style is creative, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I love using colour-coded notes, visual aids, and mnemonics to break down complex topics into easy-to-remember concepts. I believe that learning should be engaging and memorable, so I aim to make lessons as interactive and clear as possible. I regularly use exam questions to help consolidate knowledge and build exam technique. I also place great value on student feedback—understanding what they feel confident with and what they find challenging allows me to adapt each session to target those specific areas, making our time together efficient and effective.
My past experience
Yes, I have two years of experience tutoring students from KS2 to GCSE level across a range of subjects.
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements is studying medicine and being on the path to graduating as a doctor.
I’m also incredibly proud of completing my Inclusion Health research project, which focuses on improving healthcare access for marginalised groups. This year, I’ll be presenting it at a national level, which is both an exciting milestone and a testament to the impact of the work.
