About Me
Hi, I’m Louis, I am currently studying Computer science at Uni and doing maths as a minor module. I am very passionate in STEM and I thoroughly enjoy the concept of learning and I try my best to show others the satisfaction you can get from learning something new. During my time in secondary school I have helped classmates or lower year students with any questions for exams, alongside going to extracurricular sessions to help people out.
I try my best to engage people in learning things and I understand sometimes it might seem a bit boring but it’s all worthwhile in the long run, so I attempt to get the best of both worlds by having fun while learning.
Commonly I find that students might simply lack confidence in learning, so I work to help those students gain the confidence to not be afraid of failure and to instead learn from it.
My teaching style
I tend to teach in a way which caters towards the students learning style; throughout my time in lower levels of school I’ve adapted to various teaching methods and it’s all about taking advantage of them the right way.
When I explain things to students who might not understand something because of complicated wording, I do it in the least number of words possible because generally it works. “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough”
My past experience
In primary school, secondary school and sixth form I have done teaching assistant work during extracurricular sessions. These were in Maths, Physics and Computer science
My Proudest Achievements
During my time in Sixth form, I produced a project on an adaptive difficulty system in a videogame; Though I may not have been the highest score in my class I would much rather do something I enjoy than cater to a mark scheme, which is exactly what I did for my A-levels (but don’t go overboard against the mark scheme)
