19About Me
I have 30+ years of experience in tutoring in parallel to my career as an engineer and a business consultant. As I am not traveling anymore, I can use these assets to help students in both tutoring and making assignments from a distance besides my consulting work. I am based in Brussels.
Most of my students come to me from word of mouth since my hit rate is quite high: they get quite quickly autonomous, needing much fewer sessions than with a purely academic tutor. My explanations are always based on daily life applications, as I have been using most topics in my professional career (I started as a basic nuclear engineer).
For Business Studies, I also use my broad experience as a business consultant: I still coach and train Engineers into Business & Sales engineers with a few Scandinavian technical companies since 1995.
My teaching style
As an experienced practitioner of these topics, I give a hands-on toolbox to my students in Math, Phys, Chem, and Business Studies/Management. My lessons are pro-active: the students are constantly working, so there is no boredom feeling. Examples come from their own lives.
My past experience
on top of my Industrial career, I also had 3 academic full-time teaching years at the European Schools as a substitute teacher and 3 more years in the Belgian Educational system in the past, and I am still tutoring Engineering & Medicine students with local tutoring agencies in Belgium. I also tutor A Levels and IB students (Further-Extended Math/Phys/Chem) from the local international schools who want to get outstanding marks and go for well-ranked Engineering/Business universities. Now, I am cooperating with a mentoring office in London to help Chinese students get into Cambridge.
My Proudest Achievements
Worked 3 years as a European School substitute (Uccle and Mol) and obtained excellent scores for the EE Baccalaureate students.
Designing, setting up, and managing 2 GreenTech factories (10 M€) and related labs for an investor in Belgium and abroad using Green Chemistry, Physical processes, and Business principles that I am teaching too.
I have saved numerous ‘desperate’ cases all the way through my career. I just created an International Foundation Year in Brussels (IFY) with a renown personality meant to send Belgian students to study in UK.
