About Me
Hi everyone,
I’m Kazi and I am a 2nd year dental student studying at Cardiff University. During my GCSEs and A levels, I received 3 9s, 5 8s, and 1 6 (equivalent to 8A*s and 1B) for GCSEs and A*, A, B in A levels. I do have tutoring experience where I taught Year 11 students in Maths, where they were performing at a grade 4/5 when I first tutored them in November of that year. 4/5 of them went on to receive Grade 9 in Maths whilst the other student received a Grade 7. I am a student that did really well during the examination and I can provide the best guidance and expertise to deal tackle GCSEs, as well as, A-Levels. In addition, I scored 2820 in the UCAT (average of 705), which placed me in the top 10% of students that completed the UCAT. Highlights of my UCAT exam were that I scored 800 in QR and AR. I was also the only student in my year to receive all 4 dental interviews following my application from UCAS, so I definitely know how to make your personal statement stand out, whilst also being professional. I understand that applying to dental schools can be stressful, but that is why I am here for – to guide you and help you through the process in order to for you to receive all your dental interviews. So all-in-all, those wanting to apply for dentistry and are seeking an insight into the life of a dental student whilst also wanting guidance, help and advice – I am the person you need in order to maximise your chances of going to study dentistry at university.
My teaching style
My teaching style would be a blend of the discussing style and the delegating style. This is because I believe discussing promotes the interactions for a teacher/tutor and their student and allows the student to apply critical thinking and to best solve problems in a logical manner where they would have to justify their reasoning. It will also give them an idea of how a dental interview is structured where they will be expected to have a discussion/conversation with the examiner regarding a plethora of topics/subjects that may be controversial, which also allows the development of a student to think quicker on their feet. A delegating style helps by focusing the student onto one particular task and this empowers individuals to learn better independently and better structure one’s analysis.
My past experience
I tutored Mathematics to 5 GCSE students during A levels. 4 students went on to receive Grade 9 and 1 student received a grade 7
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement would be teaching the GCSE students, as they came to me with a lack of confidence in their mathematic skills and were barely passing. They left with incredible grades.
In addition, working for MedicMind since January 2022, I have helped 9 dental applicants secure places at their desired dental schools.
