13About Me
Hi, my name is Imran! I live in Preston (near Manchester) in England and I attended the University of Dundee and the Australian National University as an undergraduate. I graduated, with first class honours, in English Law in 2024 and I recently accepted an offer to join the London office of a leading global law firm in 2027. Before beginning my solicitor qualification exam next year I want to tutor students because I have a depth of experience mentoring others and it’s something I really enjoy.
I achieved two 9’s in GCSE English Language and Literature and obtained AAA during my A Levels (Economics, Chemistry, Biology).
In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing (for two national news organisations), playing sports (football, tennis etc), learning languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi), and hanging out with friends.

My teaching style
Every student learns in different ways so I would adapt my lessons to fit their needs. Generally, the initial lessons would be used to establish the student’s current level and to identify their strengths and weaknesses.
After, the lessons would methodically focus on improving the student’s weaknesses. I would periodically use lessons to examine the student’s progress to see how much they are improving and consider what areas should be addressed next.
Near the exam date I would focus less on revision and more on exam technique to optimise the student’s performance on the day.
My past experience
Mentored KS3 English during college. Currently mentoring approx 25 university students who write news articles for two national student-led news organisations.
My Proudest Achievements
Receiving an offer to join a leading global law firm was an incredibly competitive process that was very challenging at times. Also, achieving first class honours in my law degree placed me within the top 8% of students at my university and I was proud to notably get 91% in my dissertation. I am proud to have secured seven A*’s and three A’s during my GCSE’s and A-Levels respectively in challenging subjects (Economics, Biology, Chemistry at A-Level).
