Pranita
About Me
Hi, my name’s Pranita. I’m an passionate tutor with over 2 years experience in tutoring and mentoring, I enjoy science and have a particular interest in Biology, which I’m pursuing as a career in medicine. I have an enthusiastic approach to mentoring and aim to offer support and guidance for applying to medicine and taking the UCAT. My students have a track record of attaining their target grades, as well as developing their confidence in subjects. I find a tailored approach to each student is most helpful, after identifying their preferred method of learning and understanding information, then using this to teach concepts allows a positive learning experience to boost their comprehension overall. Building confidence is also a key part of tutoring, using encouragement and effective reflection at the end of sessions, I ensure to adjust lessons in a way that’s most beneficial to see improvements.
My teaching style
My tutoring style involves identifying students’ weaknesses and understanding why they are struggling with something, whether it’s a lack of comprehension or confidence, I aim to address this and build from the basics throughout our lessons. Once I understand how a student learns best, I explain concepts and processes, test knowledge with short answer questions and use exam board specific long answer questions to consolidate learning.
My past experience
I have tutored a range of subjects KS3 – A level over the past 2 years, including UCAT and entry to medicine support. I am also a medic mentor for entry to medicine.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement would be achieving full marks in my Art A level exam, and achieving the second top decile in the UCAT which allowed me to apply for medicine.
