About Me
Hello! I’m Rhea, I am a first year Economics and Economic History student at the London School of Economics. I have two years of tutoring experience, helping students of all ages reach their potential in Maths and English, as well as Economics. By working with different styles of students I have found different ways of working with young people of different ages so I will be happy to frame the curriculum in a way which suits you!
I have also taken part in many maths challenges at every level. As someone who has only recently completed their A levels, and the university admissions process, I am happy to help with any concerns which you may have, both academic and with applications to a variety of top universities. Having been a part of many extracurriculars such as debating, volunteering, choir, orchestra and sport, I understand the importance of time management and have also helped students to develop revision styles which work for them and can help with laying a positive foundation of work during a busy period.
My teaching style
I aim to creative a relaxed but productive environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes, as I believe this creates a constructive learning process. I am happy to work with the student and their families to create a process of feedback in order to allow the student to progress as much as possible.
My past experience
Yes, I have past experience tutoring at both a private and class level. I have tutored private students for two years, helping them to rebuild mathematical foundations lost during the pandemic in order to excel at their GCSEs. I have also tutored in a class setting with many students working at different levels, meaning that I was tailoring my teaching style for each student.
My Proudest Achievements
Professionally, my proudest achievement was my student who had been struggling with maths due to a lack of confidence acing her end of year exams in order to move up to a higher set, increasing her confidence in the run up to her GCSEs. Personally, I am proud of gaining a place at the LSE, something which I had aimed for a long time through a period of personal adversity.
