About Me

Hi, I’m Ray, a medical student currently studying at university and someone who’s been in your shoes not too long ago. With a track record of achieving straight A*s and 9s in my GCSEs and A-Levels, I understand exactly what it takes to excel academically, even under pressure. My focus is on helping you not only achieve your academic goals but also develop a study routine that works for you.

In school, I took on the role of prefect, where I was responsible for mentoring younger students and promoting both academic and sporting excellence. Whether it was delivering presentations to classes or guiding individuals through 1-on-1 sessions, I found great fulfillment in helping others grow and succeed. Those experiences taught me how to explain concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and encourage confidence in students of all levels.

What makes me unique as a tutor is that I bring the perspective of someone who just completed the same journey. I understand the challenges—whether it’s finding motivation, managing stress, or tackling tricky subjects—and I can provide practical strategies to help you overcome them. My study methods are efficient, and I’ll show you how to make the most of your revision time while still carving out space for hobbies, relaxation, and balance. For me, playing sports and staying active was a key part of managing stress, and I encourage finding outlets that keep you energised during exam periods.

If you’re looking for a tutor who not only knows the syllabus but also understands the realities of student life, I’d love to help. Together, we can break down difficult concepts, build your confidence, and create a plan tailored to your goals. Let’s make those grades happen—while keeping the journey as stress-free as possible.

I look forward to working with you, and whatever your academic goals may be, I wish you all the success in the world!

Best,
Prahlad

My teaching style

I take a holistic approach towards tutoring that is patient, but also seeks to push the boundaries of the students I teach. I know firsthand how hard you need to work for GCSEs, and how they will open many doors for you in the future. I will also be sure to pass that knowledge onto my students. I also know how stressful they can be, and will do my utmost to make sure my students have a positive approach to their studies that both looks after their mental health and discourages them from ‘last-minute revision’, which can be incredibly stressful (as I full well know!). Above all, I understand how important it is to have a teacher who can explain those complicated theories or concepts such as those you will find in organic chemistry or maths, and I will make sure that my students don’t give up before fully grasping those concepts. Typical lessons will last around an hour, but I am open to longer if contacted/requested for it and it fits in my schedule! My lessons are for everyone who is currently studying towards their GCSEs or lower (preferably in secondary school, or towards the end of primary school).

My past experience

I’ve been professionally tutoring for over two years! I was also given the role of Head of Mentoring at my school, where I was in charge of overseeing the mentoring program that helped many struggling students to succeed in the subjects they felt were they were not reaching the required standard in.

My Proudest Achievements

– Successfully becoming a UCL medical student
– Being given multiple positions of responsibility throughout my academic career, from Head of Mentoring to my role as an academic as well as sporting prefect
– Achieving Grade 8 level and working towards my diploma in clarinet
– Captaining my school team to victory in multiple tournaments for both for cricket and athletics.
