About Me
Hello! Shwmae! I am Anna, an undergraduate studying Education, Psychology, and Learning at the University of Cambridge. I am from Cardiff (Wales), attended a state school for all of my education prior to University, and applied to this course during my gap year. Throughout high school particularly enjoyed Geography, History, Welsh, and Psychology, though received high grades across the board at GCSE and A Level. The papers I have taken thus far in my course have include aspects of philosophy, linguistics, psychology, history, and statistics – a really broad scope of interesting areas. My interests outside of academia include piano, running, student union support, rowing and coxing, and cycling. I value my own time alongside studying at University, and this is a balance that I implore prospective students to think about before attending any higher education establishment. I would love to support students looking at applying to Oxbridge for Psychology (or PBS) and Education, or for those seeking advice regarding interviews generally. Looking forward to meeting you!
My teaching style
I take a holistic pedagogic approach, incorporating focused one-to-one teaching with pre-prepared materials, prompting pupils to be inquisitive and fully immerse themselves in the topic we’re looking at. I value persistence through difficult areas, and really stand by the saying that there are ‘no silly questions’.
My past experience
Yes – I am a frequent tutor with MyTutor, however this is for students who are usually around 14-16 (so potentially a slightly younger cohort).
