Serena
About Me
Hello, my name is Serena Sze and I am from Hong Kong and have studied in Singapore before and am currently in the UK. Hence, I am quite familiar with different type of learning methods which I have observed throughout my studies in different places. I am currently a first year medical student in King’s College London and has just finished my A-levels. I scored a 2920 B1 in my UCAT and received offers from KCL and University of Glasgow. I did a research project on the integration of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine for stroke rehabilitation. I am very interested in helping different students to find the best way to study as there are a lot of different studying methods currently, such as Pomodoro. However, I do very much understand the difficulty in finding the best way to do it and I would love to use my experiences to guide them to the right direction.
My teaching style
I have a very bubbly personality which would provide them a comfortable and safe place to ask for any form of help in their studies. I would also ask the students about how they learn things, so I can suit my teaching style towards them, allowing them to improve more quickly. Personally, I find using acronyms to learn is very useful and I would love to provide them with some of my learning techniques which have helped me through my studies.
My past experience
I used to do science mentoring back in my school and I also tutored a year 11 for maths in GCSEs and has helped her improve from a 5 to 8.
My Proudest Achievements
I scored a top 3% for my AR and QR in UCAT. I achieved an A in my EPQ and my research title was integration traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine for stroke rehabilitation.
