3About Me
Hello! I am a dedicated physics tutor with a passion for helping students grasp the fundamental principles that govern our universe. Currently, I am a Royal Society Newton International Fellow in the Materials Department at the University of Oxford, UK. I hold a PhD in Physics from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, and have over six years of postdoctoral research experience at Bar-Ilan University, Israel, and Oxford University, UK.
My research focuses on computational modeling of energy storage materials, and I actively mentor Master’s and DPhil students in their academic work. With a first-class Master’s degree in Physics and extensive experience in both research and teaching, I aim to make physics engaging, intuitive, and accessible to students at all levels.
I believe that physics is everywhere—helping us understand everything from the smallest particles to the vastness of the cosmos. My goal is to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and equip students with the problem-solving skills they need to excel academically and beyond. My teaching style
My teaching philosophy is grounded in creating a supportive and stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions,
and engage in collaborative learning. I believe that teaching is not just about transmitting knowledge, but about inspiring curiosity and fostering a lifelong love of
learning. My own journey toward an academic career was inspired by exceptional educators who demonstrated the true art of teaching, and I aim to bring that same
level of excellence to the StudyMind.
During a lesson, I use a combination of whiteboard (80% of the time) and slides (20% of the time), supplemented with audio-visual content, simulations, and other
tools. Lessons are always interactive, with plenty of opportunity for students to ask both relevant and open-ended questions. My typical structure includes a recap
before starting the next one, a take-home summary after each lesson, guided practice problems followed by a full assignment once a topic is completed, and pastpaper
practice in the lead-up to exams.
My past experience
I am currently teaching physics/science at secondary schools and colleges across Oxfordshire, including UTS Didcot, Matthew Arnold School, Gosford Hill School, and Farringdon Community College, and private tutoring has further shaped my teaching approach. I am also a guest physics tutor for the Oxbridge Summer Course at Hughes Hall, Cambridge University, where I deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials on energy materials. My experience as a teaching assistant during my PhD at IACS Kolkata, along with mentoring Master’s and PhD students during my postdoctoral research at Bar-Ilan University, has equipped me to teach effectively across different age groups and levels. I have also served as an examiner for the British Physics Olympiad, which has given me valuable insight into common student misconceptions when marking.
