About Me
I am a passionate and dedicated Psychology and Science tutor with a Master’s degree in Health Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I have a strong academic foundation in psychological theories, research methods, biopsychosocial models of health, and evidence-based practice, along with hands-on clinical experience working with both children and adults.
During my supervised internship in the oncology department, I worked closely with multidisciplinary teams, conducted psychological assessments, assisted in therapy planning, and observed real-world applications of psychology in healthcare settings. This experience helped me develop a clear, practical understanding of how psychological concepts apply beyond textbooks, which I bring into my teaching to make lessons more engaging and meaningful for students.
I enjoy teaching Psychology and Science subjects because I believe they help students understand themselves and the world around them. My goal is to make complex topics simple, relatable, and interesting. I am especially supportive of students who may feel anxious, lack confidence, or struggle with academic pressure. Having studied and worked in diverse educational and professional environments, I am patient, encouraging, and adaptable to different learning styles.
My teaching style
My teaching style is student-centred, structured, and supportive. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand explanations using real-life examples, diagrams, and active questioning. I adapt my approach based on each student’s learning style, pace, and confidence level. I encourage open discussion, critical thinking, and regular feedback to ensure students truly understand the material rather than memorising it.
My past experience
While my formal experience is primarily academic and clinical, I have regularly supported peers and junior students with exam preparation, understanding psychological theories, research methods, and assignment planning. I also gained experience explaining complex psychological concepts to patients and families during my clinical internship, which strengthened my communication and teaching skills.
My Proudest Achievements
Completing my masters in health psychology in the UK, gaining supervised clinical experience in an oncology setting, and successfully applying psychological knowledge in both academic and real-world healthcare environments are my proudest achievements.
