About Me

I’ve just graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in mathematics, and I have a genuine passion for tutoring. Over the past few years, I’ve gained extensive experience teaching students of all abilities and have consistently received positive feedback for my engaging and supportive approach. This year, I’m dedicating my time entirely to tutoring because I find it incredibly rewarding to help students reach their potential.

During university I specialised in mathematical physics and found this area fascinating! I did my dissertation on “The implications of Noether’s Theorem in Quantum Field Theory” which actually wasn’t as scary as it sounds 🙂

I’m 21, from Warwickshire, and attended my local comprehensive school, so I’m familiar with the challenges and opportunities of the current curriculum. As someone with dyslexia, I understand the importance of adapting teaching methods to suit different learning styles and have experience working with students with various learning difficulties.

My teaching style

Every student is different, and that is the benefit of tutoring! Unlike a classroom teacher, I am able to focus purely on one student and tailor my teaching to the student’s individual needs and learning styles. I focus on building a strong conceptual understanding by breaking down complex mathematical concepts into manageable parts.

My past experience

GCSE and A Level Tuition: I have a massive amount of experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level mathematics and physics, helping students of all abilities build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve excellent results, whether they excel at maths and need an extra challenge or they struggle and need that extra help.

University Admissions: I specialise in university admissions, particularly for mathematics courses, providing expert guidance on personal statements, admissions tests, and interview preparation, and mentoring students successfully admitted to Oxbridge. I also have lots of experience tutoring international students who don’t necessarily speak English as their first language, as well as students applying for similar but unrelated degrees like Computer Science, Physics and Engineering.

University Students: I have extensive experience supporting university students in mathematics, helping them master the complex concepts of their pure and applied courses to help them succeed in their coursework and exams.

My Proudest Achievements

Volunteer Experience: Head of Volunteer Engagement and Shift Lead for Oxford Nightline, managing 150 volunteers for a mental health and suicide hotline charity.

Leadership & Adventure: Organising and leading a 500km charity hike in Spain for Hero Paws.

Languages: Self-teaching German and Arabic.
