About Me
Nice to meet you. I am Bethany Chan, a 2nd year medical student at the University of East Anglia. My passion for tutoring has cemented after getting positive feedbacks with helping out students from the year below in school. As someone who has lots of interests, I believe that it is most effective to find the shortcut to studying in order to achieve the best grades possible with less efforts. During school, I have always find it useful to understand topics with diagrams and using mnemonics or stories to memorise harder and more boring topics. I would love to also help my potential students to fully understand concepts and topics. I would also love to build students’ confidence through my lessons in order to create a relaxed atmosphere for students to be comfortable and to succeed in their application. People would describe me as friendly, determined, empathetic and curious. My hobbies are fitness, piano, reading and watching Netflix. I hope to be able to help students to achieve their goals with enough time for themselves to excels in their hobbies.
My teaching style
Simplifying difficult concepts into diagrams and findings shortcuts to memorise topics. Asking students questions and discussing their answers with them. Sharing my personal experiences with students so they can get specific advices to their dream universities. Using PowerPoint and other online resources to make sure students fully understand the topic
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements are being able to help young years with their school works, getting in my dream university for medicine without being stressed out during application.
