2About Me
Hi! I’m Ben. I am a First Class Land Economy (Economics, Law and Environment) Graduate from the University of Cambridge and I have 4 years of tutoring experience. In Sixth Form, I achieved A*A*A*A* in A-level Economics, Geography, Maths and in my EPQ focused on the UK Housing Crisis. During my degree, I took papers on Economics, Finance, Real Estate, Development, Law and Public Policy. Upon graduating from Fitzwilliam College Cambridge I was also awarded the 1912 Senior Scholarship, Thatcher Prize and Lalit Kumar Singhania Prize for my academic results.
My tutoring experience spans GCSE, A-level and Oxbridge admissions. I have tutored students on the full breadth of the Oxbridge application process including course exploration, interview practice, admissions assessments, and personal statement assistance. I also provide pre-course prep to make sure students who get their place hit the ground running when they start the course. This includes pre-course reading lists, supervision preparation and essay writing help.
I currently work as a Director of ESG Courses at an environmental start-up where I teach courses on environmental topics such as environmental finance, green real estate and crypto-economics. These courses are directly related to Economics, Finance and Land Economy syllabuses enabling me to give tutees a perspective on complex topics to bring into their applications.
My teaching style
My teaching style focuses on a collaborative approach to guide the tutee in creating the strongest application possible. This stems from course exploration, interview practice, and continuous feedback between the tutor and the tutee. Each session will have core goals and key themes to enable structured outcomes while allowing deeper exploration of spontaneous topics within sessions. This enables students to have broad knowledge going into the application process while also having developed key specialisms to impress the recipients.
My past experience
Yes. My experience spans 4 years including GCSE, A-Level and Oxbridge admissions tutoring. My primary focus is on tutoring students the full breadth of the Cambridge University Land Economy application process.
My Proudest Achievements
Achieving a First Class Honours from the University of Cambridge and being awarded 3 academic prizes for my examination results.
