I’m Zakir, a 3rd-year Medical Student at Cardiff University and an experienced A-level Maths and MMI interview tutor.
Over the past three years, I’ve worked with students aiming for top grades and competitive university offers, helping them turn uncertainty into confidence and potential into results. I know exactly what it’s like to feel the pressure of exams and interviews, because I’ve been through it myself — sitting my A-levels in 2023 and navigating the demanding medicine application process.
That experience allows me to relate to students on a genuine level, giving advice that’s practical, relevant, and rooted in real exam experience. My tutoring focuses on both subject mastery and mindset, because achieving top results isn’t just about knowing the content — it’s about staying calm, organised, and strategic. Whether you’re aiming for an A* in Maths or preparing for a challenging MMI, my goal is to make you feel supported, capable, and ready to perform at your best
My teaching style
I adapt my teaching to fit each student’s personality and pace. I believe every learner is unique, so I adjust lesson plans, topic order, and examples to match what helps them learn most effectively. Once students build confidence, I push them to think independently and apply ideas creatively — that’s when progress really takes off.

Yes, I have over three years of tutoring experience, supporting students in A-level Maths and Medicine interview preparation. My Proudest Achievements
Helping a student go from a D grade in March to an A in June — even with tough grade boundaries — is one of my proudest moments. I’ve also supported many students in securing Medicine offers, guiding them through MMIs with focused strategies that build calmness and clarity.
Seeing students unlock their full potential and realise how capable they truly are is what I’m most proud of.
