Emily
About Me
Hi, I am Emily, a Psychology student at the Open University. My interest in the science of learning has led me to pursue this degree. I have a rich detail of understanding into how people learn, understand and retain information best as a result of this. I have 3 A*’s in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology A Level and am hoping to pursue a career in the field of Education.
I have 5 years of tutoring experience across a wide range of age groups tutoring 11+, KS2 and KS3 Maths, English and Science, GCSE Maths, English, Science and Psychology as well as A Level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology.
My years of experience and pedagogical knowledge means I am confident delivering lessons in such a way that are tailored for each specific student. I am also passionate about ensuring each student knows what they can be doing outside of their school lessons and our tutorials to best help their progress.
My teaching style
I believe it is important that teaching style is tailored for each individual student. However, I believe in constant use of active recall to revise key content before applying this to exam style questions.
My past experience
As discussed, I have 5 years of prior tutoring experience across with range of age groups and both online and in person.
My Proudest Achievements
Some of my proudest achievements are achieving all A*’s at A Level. However, in recent years I am prouder of the progress I have made with balancing my academic, work and personal life in such a way that optimises my mental health.
