About Me
As a current undergraduate at the University of Oxford, it has only been a few months since I finished my school exams. Therefore, a lot of the content is still fresh in my memory and I am able to assist students to perform to the best of their abilities. At GCSE’s I achieved 9 9s and an 8 and at A-Levels I received A*A*A*A*. I managed to secure a place at Oxford and I am learning Computer Science. As a tutor, I will share many tips on how to secure the maximum amount of marks for certain questions and achieve the highest grades. For certain exams such as A-Levels, students may know the content correctly but will not score marks due to their answers not matching the mark scheme. Therefore, I will continuously refer back to exam style questions and teach them the correct terminology, allowing them to secure fantastic grades.
My teaching style
Understanding that different students learn in various ways, I plan on using a broad range of resources to help students. This includes Power-point slides, Online Textbooks, Notes, Videos etc. Initially, I will explain the topic and teach it so that they can replicate this in their exams. Of course, if there are any questions I will try my best to answer them so that they grasp the content being taught. After this, I will do a worked example with them that will help to clear some doubts on that lesson. Then, they will do a few questions on their own and by judging their progress I will understand if they are confident and ready to move on. Alongside this, homework set will reflect the topics taught in lesson, making sure that students do not forget what they learnt.
My past experience
Yes. I taught, whilst I was in Year 13, as a part time tutor. This was at the East Ham Learning Hub, where I taught 4-5 students per session. This ranged from primary school students to GCSE Level.
