About Me
Hi! I’m Amelia.
One of my favourite things is to help other people (I volunteer at a charity shop every weekend). I love using the techniques I’ve developed over the many different exams to help other students.
I’ve also experienced how much personalised tutoring can help, as I received tutoring to help me during my own GCSEs (foreign languages really aren’t my strong suit)
These days alot of exams are all about memorisation but I believe that the best way to study is to understand the concepts in a wider context. I can help you to find your best learning style to engage in the content in a new to better embed knowledge for exams and beyond!
Outside of my studies I’m a part of the pottery and biosciences societies and I often bake post-study session sweet-treats for my housemates to de-stress
My teaching style
I love working responsively and co-operatively with students to find the best learning style that works for them. Especially using games or diagrams to actively engage students.
Personally, my favourite revision techniques are making and using flashcards and past paper questions (the phrase that strikes fear into the heart of many students but it’s how you respond to and grow from questions that is the most important!)
My past experience
I have >100 hours experience in tutoring at A-Level, GCSE, 11+ and Primary level
I have also worked with SEN students to help them
