Hello, I’m Marishka!
I’m a Neuroscience student at the University of New South Wales with a strong academic background in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology, I am passionate about breaking down complex scientific concepts into easy-to-understand ideas.
I completed my IGCSE and IB Diploma at a British International School in Abu Dhabi, where I took Higher Level Biology, Chemistry, and English, alongside Standard Level Psychology, Maths AI, and Spanish. Throughout my studies, I received multiple awards for the highest achievement in science within my cohort, reflecting my strong grasp of the subject and dedication to academic excellence.
Having gone through these rigorous programs myself, I understand the challenges students face and how to overcome them with effective study techniques and clear explanations. As a tutor, my goal is to help students gain confidence in their studies by providing tailored support that meets their individual needs. I focus on making learning engaging and accessible, ensuring that students not only improve their grades but also develop a deeper understanding of the subject.

My past experience
I have 6 years of tutoring experience, including serving as the head tutor for the Biology faculty at my high school. In this role, I ensured that all tutors provided the right resources to students and that students were paired with tutors who best suited their needs. Other than Biology, I’ve tutored students in a range of subjects, including English, Maths, Chemistry, and Psychology, helping them improve their understanding and academic performance. Additionally, I’ve worked with students to enhance their reading comprehension, fostering both their academic skills and a love for learning. My leadership experience and adaptability allow me to provide tailored support to each student, ensuring they reach their full potential.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement was starting a podcast with friends to help students prepare for the International Baccalaureate (IB) and university. We invited guest speakers from top universities in the UK and US, sharing their insights on the IB and transitioning to university. We also produced episodes on entrance exams like the SAT and UCAT, offering valuable tips and guidance. This experience taught me how to create engaging, informative content and strengthened my passion for supporting students’ academic journeys.
