We are looking for dedicated SEN / SEND Teachers throughout Worcestershire, including in Worcester, Redditch and Kidderminster, to join our team and play a vital role in the educational progress of vulnerable learners. We work with children and young people with a wide range of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and other additional learning requirements. Worcestershire The SEN Teacher Role
As a SEN / SEND Teacher at Study Mind, you will:
• Provide 1:1 teaching in Maths, English, or Science for students with SEND, SEMH, and other additional needs.
Create tailored lesson plans and provide structured sessions that address each learner’s individual requirements.
• Adapt teaching approaches to ensure lessons are engaging, accessible and supportive.
• Track and report on student progress, sharing clear feedback with families and schools to maintain consistent support.
• Collaborate with local authorities and schools to promote each student’s overall development.
SEN / SEND Teacher Tasks and Responsibilities in Worcestershire
• Plan each session around individual learning styles to support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
• Deliver engaging, needs-led lessons that encourage strong academic outcomes alongside personal development.
• Share consistent progress updates through clear lesson reports and feedback to families and wider support teams, including local authorities.
• Ensure every session is trauma-informed and responsive to the student’s holistic needs, addressing both educational and emotional priorities.
SEN / SEND Teacher Requirements in Worcestershire
• Teaching Qualifications: A relevant teaching qualification such as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, with at least 1 year of experience working with students with SEND.
• Knowledge: A strong understanding of SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD and other additional needs, with the ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet each learner’s requirements.
• Safeguarding Knowledge: Knowledge of safeguarding practices, with a commitment to ensuring the welfare of children and young people.
• DBS: An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to Work: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including for remote assignments.
