There was a good mix of practical skills and industry insight. I loved learning about typography and sketching because we actually got to make things and not just watch. The career week helped me figure out that I want to go into branding and visual identity.

I really enjoyed the visit to the design studio and it was inspiring to see how real designers work and hear about their career journeys. I liked that I had the opportunity to feel like an actual designer and I have come out of this week with a lot more confidence. 

This week made me realise how broad the subject graphic design actually is. The studio illustrator session was my favourite because it felt like a real client project and it made me want to put a lot of effort and thought into it. The tutors were really supportive and gave useful feedback.

This week gave me a much clearer idea of what studying and working in graphic design is actually like. What I liked the most was that sessions were a mix of hands on sessions and studio visits. This work experience has prompted me to start building my portfolio and look at creative courses for uni.
